Export Klaviyo data to Redshift
If your reporting lives in a warehouse, you have three options for Klaviyo: pay for an ETL vendor, build and maintain an API client yourself, or get a clean CSV and load it. For campaign and flow performance, the third option is usually the right amount of engineering.
How to do it
- Get a clean fileRun the campaign and flow export. The column names are clean and, importantly, stable, which is what matters when you are loading into a typed table.
- Put it in S3Redshift's COPY command reads from S3. Upload the CSV to a bucket your cluster can reach.
- Create the table onceDefine your columns to match the CSV headers. Dates as DATE, rates as DECIMAL, names as VARCHAR. Do this once and it holds.
- COPY it inA standard
COPY table FROM 's3://bucket/file.csv' IAM_ROLE '...' CSV IGNOREHEADER 1;and you are done. - The same shape works for BigQueryLoad the CSV via the console or
bq load. Same file, same stable headers.
The button that does step one
The export itself is one of our buttons. It reads from Klaviyo's official Reporting API, it is read-only, and it cannot change anything in your account even if it wanted to. Your API key is used for the run and never stored.
Questions people actually ask
Does Klaviyo have a Redshift integration?
No. That is why you are reading this. Klaviyo's own exports are manual and per-surface, so the practical route is a clean CSV export that you load into Redshift yourself. It takes a couple of minutes and it does not depend on a vendor building a connector.
Is my API key stored anywhere?
No. It is used in memory for the length of the run and it is gone when you close the tab. It is never written to a database and it never appears in a log. Revoke it in Klaviyo afterwards if you like; nothing here depends on it.
Can I see the data before I pay?
Yes. Every run starts with a free preview of exactly what was found in your account. You decide from there.
